FitForge vs Fitbit Premium: which should you use in 2026?

Fitbit (with Fitbit Premium) is a daily activity tracker — steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts logged retroactively. FitForge is a structured weekly program with the workout AND a meal plan matched to the training. Different problems.

Quick verdict

Pick Fitbit Premium if you already wear a Fitbit tracker and want sleep stages, stress scores, and readiness insights from your existing hardware. Pick FitForge if you want a weekly program that tells you what to do for both workouts and meals, no wearable required.

When Fitbit Premium wins

Fitbit is the right tool if you want passive data about your day — how many steps, how you slept, your resting heart rate trend over months. The hardware ecosystem is mature (Charge 6, Sense 2, Versa 4, Luxe), the app is polished, and the Premium tier adds genuine value if you're already in the ecosystem: readiness scores, sleep animal breakdowns, and workout video library.

If you already own a Fitbit tracker, the question isn't "should I add FitForge" — it's "do I also want programming + nutrition, or am I happy with my current setup?"

When FitForge wins

FitForge is the right tool if you don't have a fitness tracker and don't want one. We tell you what to do for your workout and meals today. The tracker is optional — log your workout with one tap and move on.

If you've ever bounced off a fitness app because it asked you to "sync your wearable" before letting you start, FitForge is the opposite. Sign up → onboarding → today's workout. 30 seconds total.

Use them together?

If you already have a Fitbit and want FitForge too, you can run them side by side. Fitbit tracks your activity + sleep; FitForge programs your workouts and meals. They don't really compete — they answer different questions. The free Fitbit app (no Premium subscription) gives you the basic activity tracking, and FitForge Pro is $9.99/mo.
